Welcome to the SoHills Family, Neals!

When I was introduced to the church in November, which to me feels like an eternity ago, Shannon talked a lot about where I have worked in ministry and what I will be doing here at Southern Hills.  Being a new member of the SoHills family, I thought you would like to know more about who we are.  So…

Hi, my name is Heath Neal, and this is my wife Karen. We have a 5-year-old daughter, Reese, and a 3-year-old daughter, Vivian, and live in Bremen. I grew up in the Atlanta area and am a huge fan of the Braves, Falcons, and Hawks. Although I lived elsewhere for nearly twenty years, it has been fun to come back to Georgia and live so near to where I grew up. I love sports, reading, being outdoors and spending time with people.

Karen hails from outside of Nashville, TN, where she grew up on the family farm. They no longer raise cows and tobacco, but every spring you can go and pick fresh strawberries. We always take a trip up so the girls can pick and I usually end up working in the fields talking Spanish with the pickers. Karen works from home and keeps us all in line. She is a great mom and a wonderful friend. Hospitality and organization describe her well. She loves to read and be outdoors and is one of the sweetest people you will meet.

Reese is our Mexican baby, meaning she was born in Mexico while we were missionaries there.  She loves img_5957people. Loves them! She is one of the most loyal, caring people I know and she is only 5. We jump on the trampoline and I push her on the tire swing a lot. I’m pretty sure “Tickle Monster” is her favorite game. (I get to chase her around and tickle her.  It’s about the best game ever!) If you want someone to hang out with you all day, Reese is your girl.

Vivian is our spunky child. She is hilarious! I seriously laugh almost every day at her. But, she is stubborn too. Definitely different from her older sister.  When she is super hard headed, I often tell her, “It’s a good thing you’re cute!” I love that she takes things head on. Her love for animals is contagious and when she says “Daddy” it will melt your heart. I think she is going to be my athlete, where Reese will be the socialite cheerleader.

And that’s us, the Neals. I hope you feel like you know us a little better. Please come meet us and let’s hang out sometime. We are super excited to be a part of the family at Southern Hills and can’t wait to meet you if we haven’t already.
