This Week For Sunday

Over the past couple of years, I have found myself in great need of what God alone can provide. I have needed healing, peace about a decision, grace in my selfishness, and so much more. At every point, He always provides everything I need at the right time.

Recently I have been listening to the album Psalms by Sandra McCracken (I highly recommend checking it out). In the song Sweet Comfort, she writes:

Whatever my God ordains is right
He makes my feet to stand
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine
He holds me in his hand

Sweet comfort, sweet comfort
Yet shall fill my heart
Sweet comfort, sweet comfort
Sorrow shall depart

He is my God though dark my road
He holds me, I shall not fall
Whatever my God ordains as right
To him I leave it all.

In everything that I have gone through in my life, I have learned that in Christ there is a sweet comfort that can be found no where else. He alone provides. He alone gives me strength. He alone gives me joy. He holds me and makes my feet to stand. Therefore, I will put my trust in Him and give Him praise and glory. Everything I need is found in Him. I have decided to follow Him wherever He leads me because He supplies every need I have at just the right time.

This week, we will be introducing a new song called When The Fight Calls. The lyrics to the chorus are:

Even when the world caves
Even when the fight calls
Even when the war’s waged
I’ll take heart
I know You are greater
Forever You are Savior
I will sing Your praise
With all that I have, With all that I am Lord

It is a beautiful reminder that even when our world falls apart, Christ is greater than our hardships and struggles. Therefore in the midst of the storm, we can praise Him with that we have and find comfort in Him.
