This Week for Sunday

Over the past month or so, God has really been teaching Kelli and I some truths about life and strengthening our faith. Truthfully, He’s always teaching us and making us stronger but what always impresses me is how He does it.

As a lot of you know, over the past year and half we really started stewarding our money better. We were doing really well, had several thousand dollars in the bank (more than we ever had), and paid off all debts except our house. Things were going great.

An opportunity arose at Lime Biscuit and I took it. I do believe that is what the Lord wanted me to do. However, that has come with some set backs. I’ve learned first hand that owning a business and being an employee of a business are two totally different things. Money has been very tight as of late.

I believe that God isn’t surprised by any of this. Matter of fact, He knew it was coming. He was preparing us. When our AC went out last month, we had the money to pay cash for it because we started stewarding our money well. He has taught me to have faith in His financial principals.

When our water heater burst, we began to worry again. However, our SoHills family jumped to the rescue. God reminded us to have faith that He will provide what we need and reminded us that we have an incredible church family.

We serve an awesome God. I’m learning to trust him more and more every day. This week as you look forward to Sunday, reflect on how God has come through for you.

I am a southern boy that loves to spend my time with my beautiful wife, Kelli, and my two boys, Liam and Levi. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and playing guitar, designing things, Braves baseball, being a husband and dad, but above all I love to worship Jesus… especially with music. I am a Creative Arts Pastor at Southern Hills Christian Church where I focus on graphic design and music.
